Frequently Asked Questions

We do not participate with any insurance panels and are considered an out-of-network provider. That is because being an out of network provider allows us to be the most flexible with your treatment and as confidential as possible.
Insurance companies dictate things like length of treatment and sessions, and require that you are diagnosed with a mental health disorder for therapy to be paid for. A mental health diagnosis remains permanently on your health record.
Insurance companies also have access to know why you are going to therapy and what progress you are making. They have the right to audit your therapy files & notes, and ask questions of your therapist about your treatment.
By bypassing insurance, we are able to keep your records secure & confidential, without limitations of an insurance company, ensuring you the quality treatment you deserve.
-
Depending on your insurance, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement for therapy sessions if your plan offers Out of Network Benefits.
We are happy to share that we have partnered with Thrizer, a modern mental healthcare platform that improves the therapy experience for individuals at no cost. Thrizer will help you save on every session via your out-of-network insurance benefits. They will submit claims for you after every appointment, getting you reimbursed as fast as one week later! Schedule a Consult to see if you have out of network benefits, and start the therapy process faster.
Please note that utilizing this feature would require us to provide your insurance company with a mental health diagnosis for you, which will be a part of your permanent medical record.

We do reserve a limited number of reduced fee slots based on eligibility and therapist availability. Contact us to learn more.

When you schedule a session, we reserve that time for you. For this reason and in the interest of our valued therapists, we have to maintain a 24-hour cancellation policy. Should you cancel your appointment within that 24 hour window, you will be charged for the full price of the session. You will always receive an appointment reminder more than 24 hours in advance.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) explaining how much your therapy and mental health services will cost.
Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers, including therapists, are required to give clients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy.
What is a Good Faith Estimate?
A Good Faith Estimate (GFE) is a written estimate of the total expected cost of therapy services, including related costs, that you will likely incur during your treatment. This estimate is intended to help you understand your financial responsibilities before receiving services, so you can make informed decisions about your care.
How it Works
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency therapy services. This includes the type of therapy, estimated number of sessions, and associated costs for a 12-month period, based on our initial discussions.
Psychotherapy is a unique process. The course of treatment varies based on individual needs, and it is not possible to predict exactly how many sessions you will need or the precise costs involved. That said, I will provide an estimate based on your goals and treatment plan.
At times, additional services may be necessary or requested. For example, collaboration with other professionals or family members (especially if the client is a minor), or handling emergency situations or high conflict scheduling. These additional services will be communicated in advance and noted in the Fee Policy.
What You Will Receive in Your GFE
You will receive a written Good Faith Estimate (GFE) before beginning treatment that includes:
An estimate of the therapy services (e.g., individual therapy, couples counseling, etc.).
An estimate of the frequency and total cost for these services over the next 12 months, based on your treatment plan.
While I will make every effort to provide an accurate estimate, please note that therapeutic processes can vary. Factors like progress, setbacks, and changes in life circumstances can influence the number of sessions or the intensity of treatment required.
Disputing Charges
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the charges.
Make sure to save a copy of your Good Faith Estimate for reference. This can help ensure transparency and accuracy in billing.
