Dana Stuefen is the clinical director and founder of Ivy & Reed Counseling and Consulting, LLC. Dana received her Master of Social Work, with a focus in mental health, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She holds licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW, in the State of Wisconsin. Dana has a wide range of experience providing psychotherapy in both inpatient and outpatient settings with individuals and groups of all ages. Dana has also been invited as a guest speaker for several seminars and podcasts, speaking on a variety of topics, including relationships, parenting, and community.

Dana believes that all individuals, regardless of their past or the challenges they may currently be facing, deserve to live a life that feels meaningful and authentic – a life where they are aware of and empowered by their strengths, values, and inherent dignity. During times of hardship or change, it can be so easy to lose sight of who we are and dismiss the things and the relationships that are most important to us. Dana’s goal as a therapist  is to empower her clients to identify barriers, rediscover their core values, and let go of any self-limiting beliefs. Addressing past wounds and committing to making changes in your life can be incredibly hard and potentially scary work. That’s why Dana strives to foster a sacred therapeutic space where her clients can feel comfortable bringing their true and whole selves to each session.

Dana sees the therapist client relationship as the foundation to healing. She works with individuals, couples, and family members who are seeking to make sense of their past, learn new ways to cope, and establish healthier habits with themselves and others. Dana is trained in Gottman Level II and Treating Affairs and Trauma. Dana also values the importance of integrating one’s spiritual beliefs and practices into the therapy session and  is available to provide faith-based counseling to those who desire it.

Dana understands that therapy is not one-size-fits-all. She uses a strengths-based approach to help her clients explore the events that have shaped their worldview, then identify the strengths and values they currently possess to reshape their difficult thoughts and emotions and begin reclaiming their lives. Dana is committed to using evidence-based therapeutic practices, while also remaining present and conscientious of her client’s needs, ready to shift her approach as needed.

This walk of life was never meant to be walked alone. Dana wants her clients to know that they are welcome in this space, as they are. She looks forward to walking alongside you on this journey toward a healthier, stronger you.
